Forest Ecology, Restoration and Defensible Space w/Ryen Hezler
January 3rd, 11 AM-3 PM

This event is part of  the Olympic Peninsula Fire Ecology series, a 6 month exploration of the role of fire on the landscape around the Salish Sea - hosted by scientists, firefighters, ecologists, foresters and cultural burners, including site visits, film screenings, and hands on activities.

This talk will cover some basics about tree identification and forest ecology, as we discuss the current situation of the second-growth forests across the Olympic peninsula and strategies we can use to increase forest resilience and lower wildfire risk.
