Backyard Humanure Composting w/Al Cairns

In this free, one day class, learn the in's and outs of creating a clean, nutritious, and effective closed-loop nutrient cycle with your waste - re-use your poo! As we build a system in real time that turns poop and pee into a pathogen free soil amendment we’ll discuss the differences between types of composting systems and which ones fit your lifestyle and interest. By the end of the class you will know just enough to start your own closed-loop nutrient cycle and maybe start a humanure cooperative that can learn and share together!
Instructor Bio
Al is a primordial mycologist, permaculturalist, citizen soil scientist, and a planter of trees. He’s a bureaucrat by day and leads a one person movement called Bureaucrats for Change.
Accessibility
This class will be held outside, rain or shine. The site is a graveled, mostly flat area. There is no indoor bathroom.
